Some new Grade Ones at St Ursula’s Primary School were eager to take on what is considered the first hurdle of a 12-year endurance race on January 17.

The occasion can be described as nothing short of intriguing and they quickly adapt to their environment shortly after being introduced to teachers and classmates.

Snegugu Longwe was excited on her first day.

One of the learners, Kgosi Theledi, said he can’t wait to start his journey and is looking forward to new activities as well as making as many friends as possible.

Overall, the first day in class saw children eager to cover their books and make accessories. While some were quite shy to speak to the News, it was with the help of the teachers to allow them to be at ease and enjoy their lesson.
