Motorist loses consciousness and crashes

A middle-aged woman lost consciousness while driving and crashed into a pole.

According to the Sterkfontein Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station commander, André Raijmakers, the woman fell unconscious while driving, went off the road and collided with the street sign on the corner of Viljoen and Fourth Street.

“We could not get the car open and had to break the window to gain entry,” Raijmakers said.

He concluded she was in stable condition and on her way to hospital.
