Record-breaking 41 units of blood donated at college

UniCollege students and the community donated over 41 units of blood in commemoration of Mandela Month.

UniCollege proudly hosted the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) in celebration of Mandela Month and as part of its ongoing social responsibility drive.

According to the institution’s campus manager, Jackie Loots, this year’s blood drive marked a significant achievement with students and staff coming together to donate a record-breaking 41 units of blood.

“The overwhelming participation from the students on campus and the community was a testament to the spirit and commitment of all. UniCollege has been dedicated to hosting annual blood drives on our campus to support the SANBS in its mission to save lives. This tradition has become a cornerstone of our social responsibility initiatives, emphasising the importance of giving back to the community. Each year, the event has grown, both in participation and impact, culminating in this year’s remarkable success,” Loots said.
