Subaru West Rand goes all out to feed 450 schoolkids

West Rand Primary Mining School had 450 meals prepared for their learners on Mandela Day.

The West Rand Primary Mining School celebrated Mandela Day with Subaru West Rand.

The Krugersdorp News visited the celebrations on the day which included a braai for the learners, the handover of groceries and cold drinks as well as face painting of children’s faces.

The principal of the school Boniswa Ngejane said the South African Democratic Teachers Union also provided soup and sanitary towels for the girls.

One of the organisers of the day, Subaru West Rand representative André Reynders, added they do this every year.

“This year was the biggest one yet and we went all out. Charity is close to our hearts and we wanted to give back to the community. This was an opportunity to help someone in need,” André said.

Save A Child Krugersdorp also paid a visit to assist in preparing the food while Subaru West Rand had 450 meals for the learners.

“We are privileged to be part of a project like this and to help those who need it the most,” André concluded.
