‘Tragic scene’ after two dogs and a pig found dead

Paws and Purrs are seeking urgent assistance to repair their enclosures, cover veterinary bills, and enhance security measures following the massacre of two dogs and a pig.

The Paws and Purrs Animal Rescue Centre is pleading with the community to assist them after three of their beloved animals were harmed and left for dead recently.

According to the director of the centre, Lexi Lines, two of their dogs were killed after being neglected by people who were in charge of looking after them.

A dog that was sadly killed.

“These individuals ceased feeding the animals and worst of all, abandoned their duties without notifying us, leaving all access gates to the various enclosures open. We found a tragic scene when we arrived. All our dogs were covered in blood, and we had no water to clean them. Heartbreakingly, our beloved pig and two of our cherished dogs, Lady and Pipsqueak, were killed.”

Lexi added the veterinary bill amounts to R2 000.

“We are devastated by these events. What was once a sanctuary has become a scene of devastation. We have reported the incident to the authorities, and all security companies are on alert for the perpetrators. We are now seeking urgent assistance to repair the enclosures, cover veterinary bills, and enhance security measures to prevent such a tragedy from happening again.”

She added that if the community can contribute towards these efforts, their support would be immensely appreciated.

“Your kindness and generosity will help us restore the haven we strive to maintain for the animals.”
