100 years young and counting

Meet one of Krugersdorp's oldest residents, Neville Granger, at the age of 100 years.

Neville Granger recently celebrated his 100th birthday and is one of Krugersdorp’s oldest residents.

According to Neville, he was born on 20 June 1924 and celebrated his century birthday with his son and a delicious birthday cake. He said that during his life, he attended the Holy Family School, Durban Boys High, and then went to study civil engineering at the then-University of Natal.

He added that he moved to Krugersdorp with his wife and three children in April of 1960, and continued to stay here to this day.

“After we moved here, I joined the Krugersdorp municipality, in the engineering department, and was deputy town engineer for around 30 years. I worked for the municipality for 30 years and have been a pensioner for 35 years,” he jokingly concluded.
