UniCollege goes on an egg-citing adventure

UniCollege handed out more than 3 500 Easter eggs at various care facilities and daycares.

UniCollege embarked on a heart-warming Easter charity drive recently, spreading joy and love to both the young and elderly in the community.

The initiative saw students visiting various care facilities and daycares including Van Riebeeck Flats, Luipaardsvlei Tehuis vir Bejaardes, Jack Cotton Old Age Home, Munsieville Day Care and Villa Gloria.

During these visits, students were embodying the spirit of Easter. They brought smiles to the faces of the elderly and children alike. The Easter Bunny, accompanied by the students, engaged in activities such as face painting, Easter egg hunts, and joyful dances, creating cherished memories for all involved. The emotional impact of witnessing the joy on the faces of both the young and old during these visits was profound, reflecting the success of the initiative in spreading love and cheer.

Thanks to the generosity of the college’s full-time and part-time students, and key stakeholders, a total of 3 554 Easter eggs were collected.

“UniCollege extends its heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to this initiative, making it possible to bring happiness to those in need during the Easter period,” said campus manager, Jackie Loots.

She added they take great pride in its students’ commitment to social responsibility, recognising them as true ambassadors of the institution.

UniCollege students brought smiles to the faces of many.

“Their dedication to making a positive impact on the community is commendable and embodies our values. The Easter Social Responsibility drive also saw many people partaking in an egg-citing Easter egg hunt on campus for students. The event was enjoyed by all, with students enthusiastically participating until the last egg was found, further emphasising the success and spirit of the initiative.

“We remain committed to fostering a culture of giving back to the community and look forward to continuing its efforts to spread joy and make a difference in the lives of others.”
