The event hosted over 100 young people as they all listened to presentations given by members of the foundation as well as some of the stakeholders. The main topics during the address involved youth unemployment, drug awareness and education. The speakers who led the presentations on the day were social workers Dr Thabile Mnisi-Msibi and Mashudu Neluheni.

According to Mashudu, the programme was more than addressing the issues that the youth face, it also was an opportunity for speakers to give some words of encouragement to the youth and motivate them to be the future of the country.

“I do not see our event today as a programme to address the problems that our children face, I see it as a time to empower future leaders,” Mashudu added.

Dr Thabile highlighted the importance of education and encouraged youngsters to never take it for granted.

“Young people need to know that for them to become leaders they must first empower themselves before they can empower others,” said Dr Thabile.
