New Miss West Rand Jnr growing into the woman she wants to become

The new Miss West Rand Junior said that she was overwhelmed when she won her first big pageant title.

The lovely Sumé-Rioni Botha was recently crowned Miss West Rand Jnr and hopes that it is a big step to one day becoming Miss South Africa.

The 14-year-old was also awarded the Miss Charity title among others which she said had given her so much confidence.

This young beauty queen was born in Randfontein but grew up in Krugersdorp. Krugersdorp/ Randfontein Pageants was her first major pageant as he previously competed in school pageants only, such as Miss Debutant Protearif in 2021 and Miss Debutant at Monnas in 2022.

“What an amazing journey it has been. I have grown so much confidence and found myself,” she said while explaining how she experienced this journey.

Being crowned Miss West Rand Junior was an overwhelming feeling for her and she said she was surprised and excited all at once.

“The feeling when that crown was handed to me … amazing and priceless.”

Her next step is to focus on her charity work and be active in the community to help and support where she can. She is currently working with other winners of the pageant on projects and upcoming events.

If she could give future contestants advice she said, “Just be yourself and be humble.

“It’s a great honour to wear this title and I will continue to make everybody proud, stay involved in all the projects and charities, and grow into the woman I want to become.”
