Rand Water has issued a statement saying it is currently experiencing low water levels due to the pump failures that took place at the Eikenhof System.

This has resulted in the reduction of booster stations pumping at lower reservoir levels. The areas that are heavily affected by this are Munsieville, Wentworth Park, Kenmare, Silverfields, Mindalore, Kagiso, and Luipaardsvlei.

According to Rand Water, the pump failure may even result in the depletion of all Rand Water reservoirs as some areas have been without water for more than four days. Mogale City Water Services is urging communities to use water sparingly. Water tankers will be made available to the areas affected.
