Tip-off leads to arrest of man with unlicensed ammunition, stolen property

A young man in Factoria faces charges of being in possession of unlicensed ammunition and suspected stolen property after Krugersdorp cops received a tip-off.

A 27-year-old man was arrested after police followed up on a tip-off that he was in possession of unlicensed ammunition and stolen property.

Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane explained that on Wednesday, January 4, Captain Ryno van den Heever and Detective Warrant Officer Jan Drotsky followed up on the information they received. When they arrived at the house in Louis Friedman Street, Factoria, they found four .38 special live rounds, one 9mm live round and two men’s wrist watches.

“The suspect was not able to produce any documents or could not give an explanation of being in possession of ammunition and watches,” said Captain Sebonyane.

The suspect will be appearing in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court facing two charges.

Krugersdorp Police’s Station Commander Brigadier Happy Xaba expressed his satisfaction with the two members and the good work they had done.
