Embankment on N14 collapses again

The councillor warns motorists to drive cautiously after the R114 turnoff on the N14, due to the collapsed embankment.

After the first heavy rains of the season, the embankment just after the R114 turnoff on the N14 highway has collapsed once again and councillor Shenan Cochrane warns drivers on the road to be cautious.

“It was brought to my attention on November 8 that the repairs to the collapsed embankment had failed in the rain on the Thursday night,” Cochrane said.

She continued the team is already doing repairs, and work should be complete within a few weeks.

“Please drive with caution on that section of the highway until works are complete,” she concluded.
