Tariff increases: Councillors to consult with residents, starting today …

The municipality has launched a weeklong virtual outreach programme to consult the residents about tariff increases and related matters.

The municipality’s Revenue Services department has noted an influx of account queries and disputes from ratepayers stemming from annual tariff increases which were implemented since July 1 this year.

Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) communication officer Refilwe Mahlangu confirms that Mogale City will now consult with residents to resolve the matter.

While we have been striving to assist all discontented ratepayers via telephone, email, WhatsApp and in person, Revenue Services will embark on a weeklong virtual outreach programme to better explain the change in the electricity tariff structure,” Mahlangu said.

Interested ratepayers are therefore invited to partake in the programme via Microsoft Teams scheduled as follows:

Cllr Aletta van Loggerenberg: 16:00 to 18:00

• September 25: Ward 29 (Rant en Dal)
Councillor Aloysa Joost: 16:00 to 18h00

• September 27: Ward 38 (Krugersdorp West)
Councillor Trudie Naude: 13:00 to 14:00

• September 27: Ward 39 (Kromdraai and Heuningklip)
Councillor Gwen Britz: 14:00 to 16:00

Mahlangu added, “Meeting links, IDs and passwords will be shared with the abovementioned councillors who will schedule with their respective ward members.”
