Need a refuse bin? Go and collect from today

Refuse bins are available for residents at MCLM Coronation Park offices from September 2.

Residents are invited to collect 240 litre refuse bins from September 2 until further notice from the Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) Coronation Park offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10:00 and 14:00.

MCLM communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu says, upon collection, they will need the following:

• Latest municipal account statement not older than three months, that is in good standing (not in arrears). If indigent, proof of recent approval from the Indigent Office
• Account holder’s ID copy
• Account holder and collector’s ID copy (If collecting on behalf of account holder)

“Please be advised that wheelie bins are no longer free of charge [first issue, replacement and damaged wheelie bin]. A fee will be charged, as per applicable 2024/ 25 tariffs on the account in the next municipal billing circle after collection. Account holders are further informed that Waste Management is conducting a refuse bin audit to ensure that account holders are billed according to the number of bins serviced [including changing residential properties used for business.]

“We, therefore, encourage all ratepayers to ensure that the correct number of bins are billed on their municipal account/s as per 2024/ 25 Waste Management Services Policy,” she concluded.
