Replacement wheelie bins no longer free of charge – municipality

Residents can collect wheelie bins between August 1 and 8.

Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has advised that residents who want to collect 240-litre replacement wheelie bins can do so between 10:00 and 14:30 from August 1 to 8 at their Waste Management Services offices in Coronation Park.

However, residents are to take note that these replacement bins are no longer free of charge. MCLM communications officer Adrian Amod said the office is at the corner of Coronation Street and Paardekraal Road.

“Residents will require their latest municipal account statement [not older than three months], the account holder’s ID copy and the account holder and collector’s ID copy [if collecting on behalf of the account holder]. As per the applicable municipal tariff [2024/ 25], a fee will be charged to the account in the next municipal billing cycle. Account holders are further encouraged to ensure that the correct number of bins are billed on their municipal account/s as per 2024/ 25 Waste Management Services Policy,” Amod added.

He concluded that no cash payments would be accepted upon collection.
