Load reduction scheduled for Kagiso on Tuesday night

Kagiso residents should brace for load reduction on Tuesday evening for five hours.

While load-shedding remains suspended, Kagiso residents can expect load reduction from 17:00 tonight, July 23.

According to a media statement issued by Eskom, their Gauteng cluster implements load reduction from 17:00 to 22:00.

The power utility said the continued pressure on their transformers/ mini-substations due to illegal connections and electricity theft in some areas necessitates load reduction to avoid equipment damage.

“During the load-reduction implementation, customers are urged to switch off all their electrical appliances to avoid possible damage due to power surges when the supply returns. Failure to do so may lead to transformer trips or failures, and damages to household appliances when supply is restored,” Eskom said in a statement.
