Kagiso to brace for 5-day water shutdown

Municipality confirms that large parts of Kagiso will be affected by a planned water shutdown from Friday.

Mogale City Water Services warns of a massive five-day planned water shutdown from February 23 until February 28.

According to the municipality’s communication officer, Refilwe Mahlangu, the reason for the shutdown is due to Water Services and Human Settlements’ construction project; that of a five megalitre water reservoir planned for the Leratong Housing Development Project.

“Although the shutdown will mainly affect Ward 5, it will also affect surrounding areas, as they may experience some low water pressure due to the project. As a contingency plan, the municipality will have water trucks available to residents and deliver to them as the taps run dry. Residents are advised to have buckets at their disposal when the shutdown commences.”
