Three Mogale areas without water due to burst pipe

A burst water pipe has caused two major water lines to be shut down leaving three Mogale City areas without water.

Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) said that although repairs are being done to a major pipe burst in Krugersdorp North, the estimated time for recovery is unknown at this stage.

A statement from MCLM said that their Water Services Department regrets to inform residents of a major pipe burst on the corner of Viljoen and Seventh Street.

Repairs already started on Wednesday night (November 22) when the pipe burst but this called for the emergency isolation of two pipelines that supply the Munsieville and Dan Pienaarville reservoirs.

“The team is back on site and repair work resumed early this morning [November 23]. Although we currently do not have an estimated time for recovery, water tankers will be made available in affected areas.”

• Munsieville: Various locations in wards 24, 25 and 27
• Dan Pienaarville: Gordon Grey Street
• Pinehaven: Pinehaven Country Estate intersection

Water Services sincerely apologises for the inconvenience the interruption has caused.
