Parts of the West Rand likely to be affected by water shutdown, including Mogale

Johannesburg Water warns residents of a potential 10-hour water shutdown to come.

Johannesburg Water has released a public statement warning residents of several suburbs and regions, including some in Mogale City, about an unplanned water shutdown.

According to the statement, the reason for the shutdown is due to repairs for the Glass Reinforced Polyester pipes on the outlet of the Honeydew Reservoir.

Several areas on the West Rand will thus be affected as a result.

These suburbs include Bellairs Park, Boskruin, Boundary Park, Bromhof, Bushill Estate, Cosmo City, Honeydew Park, Honeydew Manor, Hoogland, Huntershill, Kevin Ridge, Kysands, Laser Park, Noordhang, Northriding, Northwold, Olivedale, Randparkrif, Sharonlea, Radiokop, Sonnedal, Honeydew Ridge, Sundowner, Tres Jolie, Zandspruit, Harveston and parts of Mogale City.

No confirmation has been given as yet as to when exactly residents can expect their taps to run dry, however, Johannesburg Water confirmed that an update will be provided.
