A statement from the Mogale City Local Municipality said following days of struggling with low water pressure at reservoirs and towers, Water Services was pleased to announce that water supply to Kagiso has stabilised and the infrastructure is in recovery.

The municipality would like to thank residents for their cooperation and playing their part to help conserve water during the difficult period.”

They added that parts of West Village, Dan Pienaarville and Munsieville however are still experiencing low water pressure while some have no water supply.

“These areas are connected to Rand Water’s Kenmare reservoir which is still operating at very low levels. We anticipate that as Rand Water continues to pump water into this reservoir, our supply to affected areas will slowly improve.”

Residents are still urged to continue using water sparingly as the reservoirs fill up to the required level. Water tankers will be refilled and remain on site until the system fully recovers.
