CIT security guard casually robbed at service station

CIT guards were robbed in the convenience store of a service station near Key West Shopping Centre.

An armed robbery occurred this morning, September 30, at about 11:53 at a service station near Key West Mall.

According to a cash-in-transit (CIT) guard, who was a victim of the robbery that took place inside the convenience store, he was robbed at gunpoint by two men.

The driver of the CIT van, who was waiting in the vehicle, said he saw two men casually walk in with a yellow bag and while the other guard was inside handling the money, they all stopped moving.

“The men then casually walked out and got into a blue Volkswagen Polo and drove towards Robert Broom Drive,” he added.

The Krugersdorp News will keep readers informed as soon as the police report on the matter is made available.
