False news: Krugersdorp killer did not plan to escape
Despite many reports that Krugersdorp killer Cecilia Steyn planned to escape prison, official confirms it is not true.
The Department of Correctional Services’ national spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo confirmed telephonically that Krugersdorp cult serial killer, Cecilia Steyn did not plan to escape from prison, despite many reports on the matter.
When the Krugersdorp News reached out to Nxumalo, he stated that this is false news, and she (Steyn) did not plan to escape.

“The media houses that have published stories that she was planning to escape is being fooled around by their sources. It is not true,” Nxumalo said.

He further continued that it is a lie that there was an escape attempt.
“We see no need to honour lies with a statement,” Nxumalo concluded.
Steyn is currently serving 13 life sentences in a Johannesburg prison.
