The latest crime hotspots in Mogale City

Police have identified hotspots where hijackings and armed robbery are on the increase.

Police in Kagiso wish to warn members of the public about areas that have become more dangerous to walk or drive.

Police management is working closely with community structures to deal with different challenges.

Kagiso police have experienced an increased number of cases including car hijackings and armed robberies.

According to West Rand District Police spokesperson Captain Solomon Sibiya, hijackings hotspots are Sandpiper Road, Dove and Pigeon streets in Swaneville as well as the area of Soul City, in and around Tudor Road (Main Road towards Kagiso and Chamdor).

Most of these hijackings take place between 20:00 and 04:00.

Swaneville also features armed robberies alongside Hospital View, between 16:00 and 20:00.

Armed robberies take place between 16:00 and 20:00 where unsuspecting victims walking in the streets are targeted. Areas targeted are Batswana, Ext 12, 13 and 14.
