Nine arrested in Boltonia drug lab worth millions

Police and the Hawks discovered a drug lab in Boltonia, Krugersdorp West.

Nine arrests have been made after police discovered a clandestine drug laboratory worth millions was discovered in Pulley Street, Boltonia in Krugersdorp West.

Those arrested are aged between 18 and 55.

Millions worth of illegal substances were recovered.

According to Hawks spokesperson Colonel Katlego Mogale, the discovery of the drug lab was after allegations surfaced about the operation thereof.

A variety of illegal substances were found.

He said members of the Serious Organised Crime Investigation team raided the lab where they found a variety of illegal substances which included methamphetamine producing chemicals in large quantities. During the search of the lab, it was confirmed that nine people, including two women, were apprehended.

The suspects will make their first court appearance on February 14.

The suspects will make their first appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court on February 14 and will be facing charges of manufacturing illicit drugs.
