Suspects nabbed for housebreaking and theft leads to more arrests

Two men were arrested for housebreaking and theft led the Krugersdorp Police to two other men who were in possession of an illegal firearm in Munsieville.

Four men are due to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court for housebreaking, theft and possession of a stolen firearm and ammunition.

Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane said in a statement the four suspects are aged from 16 to 32.

He added that at about 04:00 on Tuesday, January 24, Detective Sergeant Tawanano Shivambu was busy with a housebreaking and theft investigation that happened in Munsieville on Thursday, January 19.

“The complainant’s service PX4 firearm, magazine with 17 live rounds of ammunition were stolen.”

The investigation led Shivambu to a house in the Buffer Section of Munsieville where a 16-year-old and 19-year-old was arrested for housebreaking and theft.
The suspects then told the investigating officer where they had sold the firearm. On Thursday, January 26 members from Krugersdorp detectives and visible policing units followed up on this information and went to a shack in Pango Camp, Munsieville.

“On arrival at the mentioned shack, one PX4 pistol, one magazine and four live rounds of ammunition were found upon the search. Two male suspects both 32 years old were also arrested for the possession of a stolen firearm and ammunition.”

Brigadier Happy Xaba, the Krugersdorp Police’s Station Commander was very pleased with Shivambu’s diligent work.
