G4S cash van targeted in Silverfields

According to reports, a G4S cash van was targeted and ultimately robbed during a CIT robbery in Silverfields on Monday night.

A cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery reportedly took place on Carol Road in Silverfields on Monday night, November 7.

Suburban Control Centre confirmed the incident on their Facebook page as well as Sector 8 Community Policing Forum’s public relations officer Henry Carson.

According to reports, the G4S cash van was targeted shortly before 20:00 and ultimately robbed. Although shots were fired, no one is said to have been injured. It is then alleged the thugs managed to get away in two separate vehicles.

The News have since reached out to national police for comment. This is a developing story and the News will keep you updated as soon as more information becomes available.

Less than a year ago, residents of Noordheuwel and its surrounding areas were left shaken following a big explosion and gunfire in what was a CIT heist on Paardekraal Drive on Wednesday evening, December 22.

This year, on Monday afternoon, April 11, four suspects were wanted for robbing an undisclosed amount of money during what police call a cross-pavement cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery at Key West Shopping Centre.
