The Kagiso police recently spent the day talking to their community about gender based violence.

The Kagiso Police and other stakeholders recently engaged with the community on breaking the silence on gender-based violence.

Kagiso police spokesperson Captain Solomon Sibiya said he joined the Social Crime Prevention and Victim Empowerment teams, Youth Desk and Gender-based Violence Brigade at the Swaneville clinic and taxi rank recently to educate members of the community about GBV.

“We urged them to break the silence on abuse,” he said.

The team also went door to door and visited the elderly to listen to their frustrations and concerns.

“Three hours were spent on the streets of Swaneville engaging with all ages and genders.”
