Covid-19 vaccine: 244 948 individuals fully vaccinated in the West Rand

A total of 6 890 485 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province.

A total of 6 890 485 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province as of November 27. The total number of individuals vaccinated is at 4 413 133 with 3 651 592 individuals being fully vaccinated.

In the West Rand, which comprises Mogale City, Rand West City and Merafong City, 461 168 vaccinations have been administered, with 244 948 individuals fully vaccinated.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg, 2 997 907 vaccines have been administered with 1 532 531 individuals fully vaccinated.

All persons older than 12 years old are encouraged to visit their nearest vaccination site to receive the jab. It is thought that vaccinating 70% or more of the adult population can minimise the impact of the fourth wave. The Department of Health (DoH) further reminds the public that those who received a two-dose vaccine need to return for their second dose at 42 days.

All Gauteng sites, both private and public, accept walk-ins whether people are registered on the EVDS or not.
