UPDATE: Man shot during apparent CIT heist a biker – ER24

A motorbike rider sustained moderate to serious injuries in a shooting incident on the corner of Nick Toomey Boulevard and Progress Road in Grobler Park.

ER24 confirmed that a motorbike rider was transported to hospital after being shot while an apparent cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery was being committed on the corner of Nick Toomey Boulevard and Progress Road in Grobler Park on Monday evening, November 15.

ER24’s Ineke van Huyssteen said in a statement their paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 19:00 and found the injured man on the side of the road.

“Upon further assessment, it was found that he had sustained gunshot wounds to his knee. ER24 paramedics treated him at the scene before transporting him to hospital for further medical care.”

It is understood the man was shot at while a CIT robbery allegedly was in progress. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known to our paramedics, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”

The News reached out to the Kagiso and Provincial Police but they were unable to comment immediately.
