Police confirm cash-in-transit robbery in CBD, money stolen

'A security guard had just collected money from the store when he was allegedly robbed by two armed suspects' – National Police spokesperson.

National Police have confirmed that a cash-in-transit robbery occurred in the Krugersdorp CBD at the corner of Market and Pretoria Streets earlier today.

Lieutenant Colonel Brenda Muridili, a National Police spokesperson told the News, “The police in Krugersdorp responded to a cash-in-transit robbery today at 11.16am at the store.

“A security guard had just collected money from the store when he was allegedly robbed by two armed suspects while he was still in the store.

The two suspects were joined by two other armed men and they went on to take money from the tills and fled the scene. No injuries were reported and no shots were fired.”

The police are appealing to anyone with information to call the SAPS Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or send a tip-off through the My SAPS app.
