Truck driver crashes into barrier on R28 near West Village

A truck driver lost control and crashed into a barrier on the R28 recently. Netcare 911 and other emergency personell responded to the scene.

A driver lost control of a truck near West Village yesterday morning, 1 April.

In a statement sent by Netcare 11’s Media Liaison Officer, Shawn Herbst, he said that their paramedics responded to the scene at 7.25am.

“Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R28 in West Village,” read the statement.

He explained that reports from the scene indicated that the truck had crashed into a safety barrier.

According to reports the driver lost control of the vehicle.

“The patient was assessed on scene by an advanced life support paramedic, and was found to have sustained minor injuries,” read the statement.

Once the patient was treated on scene, he was transported to hospital for further treatment.
