Coronavirus: Roundup of all Covid-19 cases confirmed in South Africa

South Africa now has 240 confirmed cases of Covid-19

The first case of Covid-19 in South Africa was confirmed on Thursday, 5 March. The patient was a 38-year-old male who travelled to Italy with his wife.

A little more than 2 weeks later, the department of health has announced today, 21 March, that South Africa now has 240 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The current confirmed cases per province are as follows:

Symptoms of Covid-19 may include:

cough
fever
tiredness
difficulty breathing (severe cases)
Follow these tips by the CDC to protect yourself from the virus:
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing; going to the bathroom; and before eating or preparing food.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
