Putting the focus on gender-based violence

For the past few weeks the Kagiso Police have been putting the focus on gender-based violence and crimes and continued this theme with an educational visit to Sector 5.

The Kagiso Police’s Social Crime Unit, the Department of Community Safety, the Kagiso Police’s Youth Desk and other safety promoters recently visited the Madala hostels in Sector 5.

Captain Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for the Kagiso police explained that they visited the hostels to engage with the residents on sensitive issues while putting their focus on gender-based violence.

The female residents were specifically educated about subjects pertaining to gender-based violence.
