Elections 2016 update: which parties will be teaming up?

Following the elections on 3 August, some new information comes to light.

Almost two weeks after the local elections, the Mogale City Council is making progress towards finalising the new council.

According to information the News has obtained from a reliable source, there will be a council meeting on Thursday, 18 August.

This meeting should provide answers to some of the questions surrounding this year’s election, such as who will be joining the ANC in a coalition.

This year is the first time in history that the ANC did not receive 50 per cent of the votes, and must thus team up with another political party in order to govern Mogale City.

Thursday’s meeting should reveal which party will team up with the ANC, and the News will update readers as soon as the information becomes available.
