ANC still in the lead in Mogale

With the counting of ballots still taking place, the ANC is firmly in the lead.

The ANC is in the lead in Mogale City, but since officials are still busy counting ballot papers, things can change.

The preliminary results for Mogale City as it stands at 4pm:

In the district elections: the ANC leads with 45, 88 per cent (31 064 of the votes) and the DA in second with 36,34 per cent (24 604 votes). The EFF is in third with 10, 52 per cent (7 126 votes). The Freedom Front Plus takes the fourth position with 2,23 per cent (1 511 votes).

In the local elections: the ANC leads with 48,30 per cent (32 784 votes) and the DA in second with 35,14 per cent (23 850 votes). The EFF is in third with just over 11 per cent of the votes (7 473 votes) and the FF Plus in fourth with 2,05 per cent (1 394 votes).

Thus far 68 646 votes have been counted while 193 028 people registered to vote in Mogale City.

The completion of the counting in Mogale City is almost at 70 per cent complete with voter turn out standing at 61, 37 per cent.
