[WATCH] Trolley dash for charity

The Clearwater Mall parking lot was overrun by racing enthusiasts.

The Round Tablers of the West Rand hosted their annual Trolley Race on Sunday at Clearwater Mall.

The race, which formed part of Round Table’s Mandela Day celebrations, aimed to raise funds for charities within the West Rand community. This year, the recipients were the Gateway Society and Matla a Bana.

The winning team from Matla a Bana, one of the race’s beneficiaries.

The race track was built in the parking lot at Clearwater Mall, with the route being approximately 2,5 kilometres long.

The winner of this year’s race was the Matla a Bana team, in trolley number one. Each participant received a goodie-bag containing a T-shirt, water bottle, medal and more at the end of the race.

The Honeydew Police team, complete with flashing lights and sirens, came in second.
