Bikers give to underprivileged children

After spending three weeks collecting goods, the Flaming Hawks gave children at Forever Strong Playgroup a morning they will not soon forget.

On Sunday, 12 June, the Flaming Hawks were out in full force to give children at Forever Strong Playgroup some much need winter items.

Forever Strong is a preschool and aftercare centre that caters for children in Krugersdorp that need a place to go during the day and after school. Here they are assisted with homework and projects in order to keep them at the same standard as the rest of the children in their class that come from a more privileged background.

They also receive two meals a day, and a place to clean up after school.

Desire Nobrega, a member of the Forever Strong team, says that they want the children to feel that they can achieve their dreams, and that they are not doomed to live on the streets or do drugs.

So when Candice May, a member of the Flaming Hawks biker group found out about Forever Strong, she immediately knew that this was a cause worth getting involved with.

Some of the children eagerly waiting for their surprise.

She sent messages far and wide, and nagged anyone who would listen in order to get donations, and after three weeks, they were out in full force to drop off their collection.

They also used the opportunity to treat the children to hotdogs and sweetie packs, which was met with great excitement and big smiles.
