Busted for possession of stolen car

Police recovered a vehicle which was stolen two months ago.

A 21-year-old suspect has been arrested earlier this morning for being possession of a stolen vehicle.

Kagiso police arrested the suspect following an investigation into a vehicle which was stolen somewhat two months ago.

The complainant allegedly parked his white Fiat Uno inside of his yard in Tshepisong before going to bed on 13 February at around 8pm.

“Early in the morning he heard a strange knock on the door at about 2am. He woke up to inspect but found nobody at the door. Instead the complainant noticed that his car had been stolen,” Kagiso Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya said.

The complainant laid a complaint at the Kagiso Police Station where a case docket was registered.

As police were busy patrolling this morning, they spotted a white Uno parked in a yard which matched the description of the reported stolen vehicle.

The police inspected the car for similarities and positively identified it as the one reported stolen. The suspect was traced and later arrested at his home.

The suspect has been detained and will appear in court soon.
