A pedestrian has been killed in a hit-and-run accident on the R28 last night.
The body of a woman was taken away by a state mortuary vehicle after being hit at around 6pm. Bystanders said that small pieces of the vehicle, that appeared to be black, lay scattered across the road.
Community Policing Forum members were called to the scene where they diverted traffic. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and police also tended to the scene.
The body was found just before the R28 off-ramp towards Robert Broom Drive, where it is suspected the vehicle turned off.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, said that a case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
