Fitness beauties now bodybuilders

Local trainer boasts with a handful of fitness beauties.

Women truly do run the world and four women from Aroeka Heatlh and Fitness can add another title to their already long list of achievements.

Four beauties, Janine Ferreira, Chane Mac-Vay, Monique Basson and Geraldine Startup, recently participated in the Sibanye North-West Show last month where they each walked away with a price.

Janine (26) is one of the top 100 semi-finalists for the Mrs South Africa 2016 pageant and won in the over 1,68 metre division of the show.

She is a mom of two, a bootcamp instructor, a personal assistant for three different companies and studies part time.

Her secret to juggling a full day and still managing to workout is preparation and planning. She runs a very serious and accurate diary which helps her plan every second of her day.

Chane is an aspiring personal trainer and got a first place in the 1,63m division.

The 22-year-old journey kicked off last year when she decided to shed a few extra pounds. She kicked off with a simple 28-day diet and before she knew it she ended up exercising and interning with Princess Susan Fourie, founder of Aroeka, who helped her shed nine kilograms in only four months.

After winning a first place in her very first competition, she definitely feels the bodybuilding competition bug has bitten her.

For the 37-year-old mother of two, Monique Basson, her secret to looking this good is also planning and preparation but of a different sort. She took a third place in the 1,63m division.

She is also known as the Tupperware-lady who pre-plans and prepares every single meal of the day, seven days a week.

After not exercising for quite some time, Monique got back into the fitness game earlier in January and stepped out on the stage in March.

Clean eating and good exercise is her secret weapon which has turned into a lifestyle of choice.

Lastly, Geraldine (29) took a second place in her respective division.

Her secret to fitness has been her determination, which shows because she has been active for the last seven years.

“The best part of winning in this show is having the best trainer in the world. I could not have done it without Princess Susan.”
