An opportunistic thief stole a vehicle that was basically handed to him on a silver platter.
The owner of the vehicle went out to buy milk. On his returned, when he got out of his vehicle to drop off the milk his vehicle was snatched from under his nose.
“Unfortunately he left his car key in the ignition and the unknown male suspect saw the opportunity and stole the vehicle,” Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale said.
On their arrival at the crime scene police immediately started to investigate by tracing the vehicle .
“They searched all corners of Kagiso and eventually found it parked at a mall. The suspect, however, was nowhere to be found.”
The Krugersdorp Police urge the community to be vigilant when parking their vehicles and not to leave their keys in it, even if it is for a few seconds.
“Management applaud the members for their dedication and patience in investigating the matter until they got the vehicle back,” Mashale concluded.
