New branch of U3A opening on the West Rand

For R50 per annum you will be introduced to other like-minded people and things you never had time for before

Are you retired or semi-retired and looking for something stimulating and affordable to do? If so, then join The University of the 3rd Age (U3A).

The U3A is a learning co-operative for ‘third agers’. This term was coined to refer to what South Africans tend to call senior citizens or older people from all walks of life who are no longer in full-time employment.

The West Rand branch invites all prospective members to join them at their introductory meeting at the Ruimsig Retirement Village Hall in Flora Haase Road, behind Palm Nursery, off Hendrik Potgieter Road on Tuesday 12 April at 10am.

They have monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at 9.30am with speakers on a wide range of subjects.

For R50 per annum (no exams or entry requirements) you will be introduced to other like-minded people and things you never had time for before. Visitors pay R20 per meeting and coffee or tea can be purchased for R5.

Once you have joined the U3A, you can also join the special interest groups that will become available in the near future, such as music, writing, art, singing, dancing, chess, bridge, walking, day trips, social lunches, board games, movies and holiday trips.

There are always people who would like to do something different. What is your interest?
