Station reshuffled after top cop’s suspension

Jobs chopped and changed following the suspension of a local top cop.

Many working closely with the local police of Krugersdorp were caught off guard after hearing about the suspension of a top cop.

Last week, confused and shocked readers contacted the News regarding the suspension of the Head of the Krugersdorp Detectives Unit on 21 January.

Many wanted to know if the cop’s suspension was related to any criminal activity on his part, also the exact reason for his suspension and who will take over the cases he was working on.

“Following an internal investigation arising from an investigation of a criminal case , a notice of suspension was served to Colonel Luke Enslin. Another senior officer was also placed at a neighbouring station while the investigation is continuing,” Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, Gauteng Police spokesperson, said in a statement to the News.

Lieutenant Colonel Khewsa has been transferred from Kagiso station to Krugersdorp station as the Acting Head of the Detectives Unit.

A reliable source told the News that the transfer of ‘another senior officer’, who had been working on a high profile murder case, has indeed nothing to do with the suspension of Colonel Enslin.
