Paramedics and CPF patrollers rushed to an accident scene after a taxi and bakkie collided in afternoon traffic.
Both sides of Voortrekker Road were blocked off for an emergency helicopter landing on 11 December at around 3pm after an accident involving a taxi, a bakkie and a Toyota Venture occurred on the corner of Voortrekker Road and Trezona Avenue.
The driver of the bakkie was airlifted to a nearby hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
Members of the Community Policing Forum of Sector 8 along with Mogale City’s Traffic Department and Public Safety together with local security company, Dowry were called to the scene to help manage the traffic flow after the serious accident.
Passengers of the taxi were treated on the scene for minor to moderate injuries.
The cause of the accident is still unknown and under investigation.
