Two apprehended for stab murders

Both alleged murderers were arrested after two separate stabbing incidents took place over the weekend.

Police arrested two suspected murderers after two stabbing incidents over the weekend.

In the first incident, an alleged argument over a hat left one dead in Munsieville on 5 December.

The 28-year-old victim was allegedly stabbed in the upper body with a knife and passed away after his family took him to a nearby hospital.

Constable Mothupi started working on the case immediately after he received news of the victim’s death.

He went to the Mayibuye area in Munsieville and drove up and down until he obtained the address of the suspect involved in the incident.

Hours later Constable Mothupi’s perseverance paid off as the 21-year-old suspect returned to his residence the following day.

On arrival at the given address the suspect was arrested and detained at the Krugersdorp police station.

“Krugersdorp Management would like to applaud the work done by our officer for making sure the suspect was arresteda few hours after the murder was committed. He was on the lookout for the suspect for hours on his own,” Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale said.

In a separate incident a 29-year-old victim was stabbed to death with a knife by his friend after an alleged argument broke out on 6 December.

“It is alleged the suspect and the deceased had an argument before they stabbed each other. The deceased was stabbed multiple times. His family was called and they drove him to the hospital where he was certified dead by the doctors.”

The alleged suspect was later found at the hospital with serious injuries who alleged that the deceased stabbed him.

After receiving medical treatment, the suspect was arrested and is due to make a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court later this week.
