Alleged drunk driver’s path of destruction

Drunk driver flees from police and ends up crashing through a sign board and palm tree.

A 26-year-old alleged drunk driver crashed through a sign board and severely damaged a tree in the early hours of 1 November.

Members of the Sector 5 Community Policing Forum (CPF) along with CPF’s First Aid Responders were called to the scene on the corner of Luipaard- and Moorcraft Streets where the drunk driver crashed his vehicle.

On arrival at the scene, CPF members learned that the driver crashed through a CPF board and took out a palm tree in his path of destruction.

The alleged drunk driver crashed through this sign board in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It is believed the alleged reckless driver was attempting to flee from police who was chasing him.

The uncooperative driver gave the responders uphill as he refused to be properly checked.

He was later taken to Leratong Hospital to receive further medical treatment for his injured wrist and scratches.

It is still unclear where the driver was coming from nor where he was going to.
