Bikers 'jol' in aid of supporting the community.

Hundreds of bikers from different motorcycle clubs came from far and wide to support a day jol in aid of a good cause.

The Red Heart Riders from the West Rand hosted a fun day at Castle Inn in aid of two charities.

The first charity, a charity from Bloemfontein, the Chante Booyse Trust, supports Chante who has been declared a paraplegic after she almost drowned at the age of one year and four months and was declared dead for 45 minutes.

Chante was brought back to life but is now completely disabled.

Her grandparents, joined the event and told the News about their annual fundraising event where they light up their house in Bloemfontein in the festive season in aid of their grandchild and the community who supports them by means of donations.

The other charity who benefited, the Cradle of Hope, a local safe haven for destitute and abused women and children, was also honoured at the day jol with Sherry van Rooyen there to represent the House of Hope.

Each charity received a R5 000 donation from fees collected at the entrance from the 400 bikers from different clubs in the area.

“It is important for us as the Red Heart Riders, which is the oldest club in the West Rand, to reach out to the community and help with upliftment,” Red Heart Rider West Rand President, Collin Wilkie, said.
