Noordheuwel couple tied up by armed robbers

A couple was tied up and the husband stabbed in their Noordheuwel home.

A calm Friday afternoon (18 September) took a turn for the worst when a couple was tied up in their Noordheuwel home by armed robbers.

EPR Security services tended to the middle aged husband and his wife after they were found tied up and the husband with a stab wound.

The wife was asleep while her husband ran errands. She woke to one of the robbers already on top of her and was later tied up.

The robbers then waited for the husband to return home.

As soon as he entered their home, the robbers held him down and tied him up. They ended up taking valuables, including two cellphones and fled in the couple’s Toyota Prado.

Community Policing Forum members were called by EPR Security for medical assistance and the police, along with Emergency Services attended to the couple and started a search for the robbers and the stolen vehicle.

The search concluded two hours later when the vehicle was eventually recovered in Soweto.

Netcare 911 tended to the husband’s stab wound and was later taken to hospital where he received further treatment.

Once the News has more information, a follow up report will be published.
