UPDATE: Pupils kidnapping report false

The report posted on Facebook by a reader is according to police not true.

The News has received information from local police that the initial report of two Monnas school girls kidnapped yesterday afternoon, is false.

The police said that no formal missing or kidnapped person’s report has been filed. Local policing forum members have also stopped with their search efforts after it came to light that the information posted on the Facebook page Krugersdorp Network Community is not true.

Police would like to remind Krugersdorpers that posting false information on social media could result in serious consequences. 

Two Monnas pupils allegedly kidnapped

The Krugersdorp North community is frantically looking for two school girls who allegedly had gone missing earlier this afternoon.

Concerned residents took to the Facebook page Krugersdorp Network Community in search of answers.

Reports alleged that two girls from Hoërskool Monument were seen driving in a white Nissan double cab bakkie around the Krugersdorp North area near the primary school.

The two girls were described as one with blonde hair and the other with black hair who were banging on the window of the bakkie as it drove past the school around 3pm.

Local Community Policing Forum members received an urgent call out about the alleged disappearance and were called to help assist in searching for the missing girls.

The News has contacted the police who could not verify the incident.

As soon as more details become available, it will be published.
