An 18-year-old murder suspect was arrested yesterday following an incident at a local state hospital.
Kagiso police searched and arrested the suspect in Rietvallei on charges of murder.
The arrest follows a complaint from Leratong Hospital.
When police arrived at the hospital an official informed officers that the body of a 23-year-old man was allegedly brought into the hospital in a private vehicle.
“The deceased was certified dead on arrival. He sustained an open stab wound to his chest. The motive for the murder is unknown and police have launched an investigation. The police searched for the suspect and through useful information obtained by some members of the community, the suspect was eventually arrested,” Kagiso police station spokesperson, Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, said.
The suspect is due to make an appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
